The Committees are:
AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT
Chairperson: TBD
Description: Responsible for analyzing attendance records
provided by Treasurer and recommending to Board ways to improve
attendance. Coordinates sub-committees.
Subcommittee - Group Sales
Chairperson: TBD
Responsible for promoting group sales to organizations,
arranging for special performances with producers when necessary.
When group attendance is planned, the committee arranges
for hosts/hostesses to greet them.
Subcommittee - Marketing
Chairperson: TBD
Seeks opportunities to promote the theatre/shows by arranging
cast appearances at civic groups or other community events.
Follows up on possible group sales and special performances.
Researches target audience and maintains data on existing
audience and members attending performances.
Subcommittee - Publicity
Chairperson: Pam Sommer (Email: playwright6@yahoo.com)
Responsible for writing, sending and following up on press
releases regarding the individual shows and special theater
events. Provides photos and cast information to newspapers
and other media.
Subcommittee - Season Subscriptions
Chairperson: Pat Perkins (Email: perkinspd@earthlink.net)
Responsible for promoting season subscriptions through brochure
development, printing and distributing brochure, season tickets
and providing a current list of subscribers to the box office.
Subcommittee - Website
Chairperson: Cindy Dellinger (Email: coachcindyd@aol.com)
Responsible for dissemination of information to Theatre
Palisades Webmaster.
AWARDS
Chairperson: Shirley Churgin (Email: wchurgin@verizon.net)
Description: Organizes and oversees membership voting on
each production. Tabulates end-of season votes. Orders awards
and verifies names for engraving. Coordinates awards portion
of Annual TP Membership Meeting and Awards Banquet. (presenters,
entertainment, etc.).
BUILDING/CALENDAR/MAINTENANCE
Chairperson: Cynthia Wright-Banks (Email: wbfilms@aol.com)
Description: Chairperson is VP of Building Operations. Budgets
annual costs for running of facility. Budgets, schedules
and coordinates building maintenance, repair and renovation.
Obtains bids for facility upkeep (outside labor) and major
and minor improvements. Maintains and updates building use
calendar and Master Calendar. Invoices outside users. Designs
and prints tickets for each production.
COSTUMES
Chairperson: June Lissandrello (Email: juneliss@gmail.com)
Description: Recruits and works with designers chosen to
costume the main-stage productions, plus assist on costumes
for TP Youth and Membership shows. Sewing, tailoring and
altering costumes. Assist with pick-up and delivery of costume
rentals, laundry and dry cleaning. Maintain the Costume inventory
and shop equipment.
DIRECTOR RECOMMENDATION
Chairperson: Sherman Wayne (Email: swayne8051@aol.com)
Description: Maintains a current list of qualified directors,
interviews prospective directors and recommends potential
directors to the Board for confirmation. Attends TP Membership
Shows as well as other director showcases to become familiar
with candidates' work.
FINANCE
Chairperson: Cynthia Wright-Banks (Email: wbfilms@aol.com)
Description: Distributes budget forms, historical data then
collects budget submissions from each committee chair. Assembles
and reviews the line-by-line budget (income vs. expense),
taking into account past budgets, actual spending, and current
budget requests for both administration and production costs.
Presents a balanced budget to the Board for approval. Prepares
Federal and State Tax Returns. Audits books on a quarterly
basis.
FUNDRAISING
Chairperson: Eva Holberg (Email: DeHolberg@aol.com)
Description: Supports ongoing efforts to raise funds for
capital improvement and the theatre's Endowment Fund. Members
of the committee assist in house management of fundraising
events such as benefit concerts and performances.
GRAPHIC DESIGN
Chairperson: Joanne Reich (Email: joanne_reich@msn.com)
Description: Responsible for recruiting designers to design
the posters, flyers and programs for each production. Also
assists with artwork, signs and other graphic presentations
for productions and special events.
Subcommittee - Program Advertising
Chairperson: Eva Holberg (Email: DeHolberg@aol.com)
Responsible for soliciting program ads for all regular main-stage
productions, obtaining ad copy, delivering to chairman for
publication and collecting fees from buyers. Sends copy of
program and comps to buyer of ads for each show.
Subcommittee - Program Text
Chairperson: Cindy Dellinger (Email: coachcindyd@aol.com)
Coordinates with show producers/directors to compile program
information for each of the main-stage productions. Provides
copy to the printer.
HOUSE
Chairperson: Sigrid Hofer (Email: Sigridhofer@verizon.net)
Description: Responsible for front-of-the-house operations,
including recruiting and scheduling House Managers. Arranges
for re-stocking of perishable supplies for lobby hospitality
and maintenance of appliances. Members of the committee serve
as hospitality and ticket takers at scheduled performances.
LIGHTING DESIGN
Chairperson: Andy Frew (Email: afrew@gte.net)
Description: Responsible for light design on each production.
Recruits and assists designers in hanging and focusing lights.
Maintains lighting board and instruments, cables, etc.
MAILING
Chairperson: Sigrid Hofer (Email: sigridhofer@verizon.net)
Description: Responsible for all theatre mailings. Maintains
updated lists of members, subscribers, and general audience.
Prepares mailing labels for each mailing (newsletter, brochure,
rosters, etc.). Folds, labels, stamps and sorts for mailing.
Maintains post office accounts.
MEMBERSHIP
Chairperson: Sylvia Grieb (sgrieb@verizon.net)
Description: Solicits renewals and new memberships throughout
the year and promotes membership involvement; assists members
in contacting committee heads and production staff on shows.
Produces a periodic newsletter of member news and events
and a membership roster.
Subcommittee - Membership Entertainment
Chairperson: Sherry Coon (Email: scoon@1800dentist.com)
Seeks out and arranges production of entertainment for the
quarterly membership meeting. Focus is on showcasing directors
who wish to work at Theatre Palisades and on offering Theatre
Palisades members an opportunity to act in One Act Plays,
original works, or abridged plays. Membership Entertainment
committee also assists the Award Committee in providing entertainment
at the annual party.
Subcommittee - Telephone
Chairperson: Gloria Depiante (Email: Gloria@depiante.net)
Description: Calls members with reminders of upcoming theatre
events, including opening nights, membership meetings and
shows, and special events.
NOMINATING
Chairperson: TBD
Description: Prepares a slate of officers and members for
next year's Board of Directors. Contacts nominees regarding
their acceptance and their preference of committee to chair.
Sends out bios of Board nominees to general membership 30
days prior to election at the Annual Meeting. Counts ballots
and announces results. Meets to nominate candidates to fill
vacated spots during the year.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Chairperson: Richard Little (Email: richlittle@verizon.net)
PLAY RECOMMENDATION
Chairperson: Matt Landig (Email: mattlandig@earthlink.net)
Description: Reads plays suggested by the committee and
general membership; evaluates plays for availability, audience
appeal, and production feasibility. Prepares a slate of plays
for the coming season, including back-up shows, to the Board
for approval.
POLICY
Chairperson: Julia Whitcombe (Email: juliawhitcombe@verizon.net)
Description: Reviews the bylaws, standards and policies
of the theatre and maintains an updated summary of theatre
policy. Reviews proposed changes in policy and by-laws and
submits recommended revisions.
PRE-PRODUCTION
Chairperson: Carol Becker (Email: carolbecker@gmail.com)
Description: Responsible for obtaining performance rights,
scripts and arranging for royalty payments. Sends out casting
notices; assists directors in running auditions.
PROPS
Chairperson: Dennis Owens (Email: OwensDennisP@gmail.com)
Description: Responsible for recruiting prop master for
all productions. Works with director to create prop list
for each play. Assists in building, borrowing, and purchasing
props and prop supplies. Assists stage manager in creating
property plot for backstage. Provides prop running crew as
needed. Maintains stock of props.
SAFETY
Chairperson: Shirley Churgin, Sherman Wayne, Cynthia Wright

Description: Committee reviews and addresses safety concerns
in and around the theater. Conducts regular checks of aisle
lights, exit signs, storage areas, etc. Makes/arranges for
repairs or maintenance. Reports regularly to Board on Safety
issues.
SET DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION
Chairperson: Sherman Wayne (Email: swayne8051@aol.com)
Description: Responsible for recruiting and providing set
designers for each play. Works with Construction Foreman
to get set construction and painting crews. Maintains inventory
of flats, set pieces, and furniture.
SOCIAL
Chairperson: Martha Hunter (Email: marthahunter@gmail.com)
Description: Responsible for planning and organizing annual
summer party for membership, including a catered awards banquet.
Arranges Opening Night Party for each of the main-stage shows.
Committee members are responsible for invitations, mailing,
catering, decoration, entertainment, clean-up.
SOUND
Chairperson: William Prachar (Email: williampracher@verizon.net)
Description: Responsible for recruiting and providing sound
designers and operators for each production. Maintains sound
equipment, makes purchases and repairs to equipment as needed.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Chairpersons: Andy Frew (Email: afrew@gte.net) and Bob Sharka

Description: Plans and carries out special community-related
events, such TP's entry in the Pacific Palisades annual Fourth
of July parade, Chamber of Commerce mixer etc.
THEATRE PALISADES YOUTH
Chairperson: Dorothy Reinhold (Email: dreinhold@aol.com)
Description: Coordinates productions performed by TP Youth,
selects and/or approves scripts, directors and producers;
schedules and arranges for rehearsal space, performances
and technical support; champions the involvement of children
in Theatre Palisades
